USSSA ELITE GAMES 2025: JINJA PROGRESSIVE ACADEMY MAKE IT TWO IN A ROW

The 6th edition of the USSSA Elite Games kicked off the new year in style, bringing together the crème de la crème of Uganda's young athletes. The exclusive event featured the top 8 teams from each sports discipline who had excelled in previous championships.
Held at St Joseph's of Nazareth in Mpigi district from February 14-16, the USSSA Elite Games 2025 were a thrilling display of talent, skill, and determination. The event provided a unique platform for the best young athletes in Uganda to compete, learn, and grow.

Football: Jinja Progressive Academy Wins Back-to-Back Titles
In the football boys' category, Jinja Progressive Academy made history by winning the title for the second time in a row. Amus College School and Standard High School Zana took silver and bronze, respectively.
Jinja Progressive Academy's Wangala Rashid was named goalkeeper of the tournament, while teammate Kibirango Rashid took home the top scorer award with an impressive 5 goals. Isabirye William of Jinja Progressive Academy was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

The football girls' category was equally thrilling, with St. Noa Girls School dominating the competition to take home the gold medal. Kawempe Muslim School and Uganda Martyrs High School took silver and bronze, respectively. St. Noa Girls School's Mayimuna Namuwaya was named the best goalkeeper, while teammate Kabene Sylvia took home the top scorer award. Kasemire Imelda of St. Noa Girls School was named the MVP of the tournament.
Volleyball Girls: St. Elizabeth Girls' S.S. Take the Top Spot
In the volleyball girls' category, St. Elizabeth Girls' S.S. emerged victorious, taking home the gold medal. Bukedea Comprehensive School and Mariam High School took silver and bronze, respectively.
Rugby 7's Boys: Busoga College Mwiri Take the Title

In the rugby 7's boys' category, Busoga College Mwiri dominated the competition, taking home the gold medal. London College of St. Lawrence took silver.
Netball: Buddo S.S. Take the Top Spot
In the netball category, Buddo S.S. emerged victorious, taking home the gold medal. Baptist H/S and Greenlight Islamic S.S. took silver and bronze, respectively.
Basketball 3x3 Girls: Gombe S.S. Take the Title

In the basketball 3x3 girls' category, Gombe S.S. dominated the competition, taking home the gold medal. St. Maria Goretti S.S Katende and Amus College School took silver and bronze, respectively. Nakigudde Catherine of Gombe S.S. was named the MVP of the tournament.
